Kitchen Cabinet Painting in Aberdeen

A new kitchen can cost thousands. If your units are solid but the colour is tired or dated, painting them gives you a completely different kitchen in a few days, without the mess and cost of ripping it out.

What's included

What a kitchen repaint includes

Every quote includes the preparation, materials and a full tidy-up, so the price you see is the price you pay.

  • Cabinet doors, drawer fronts, end panels and frames
  • Kitchen islands, plinths and cornice
  • Degreasing and cleaning every surface first
  • Sanding and a specialist bonding primer
  • Hard-wearing cabinet paint in your chosen colour
  • Refitting doors, with new handles if you want them

Is your kitchen suitable for painting?

Most kitchens can be painted: solid wood, MDF, painted units and many foil and laminate doors, as long as the surface is sound. Doors where the foil is already peeling or lifting at the edges aren't a good candidate, because the paint will fail with the foil. We'll check on the free visit and tell you straight.

Preparation is what makes it last

Kitchen cabinets get grease, steam and constant handling, so the prep matters more here than anywhere else in the house. Every surface is degreased and cleaned, lightly sanded, and primed with a bonding primer made for tricky surfaces before the top coats go on.

Choosing a colour

Deep greens, navy and warm greys are popular for a modern look, while soft whites and creams suit a classic shaker kitchen. Painting the island or lower units a different colour to the wall units is an easy way to add interest. We're happy to help you decide.

FAQ

Kitchen Cabinet Painting questions

How long does it take to paint kitchen cabinets?

Most kitchens take a few days, as each coat needs time to dry and harden properly between coats. We'll give you a timeline with your quote and keep the kitchen as usable as possible while we work.

Can you paint laminate or foil kitchen doors?

Often, yes, with the right bonding primer, as long as the foil or laminate is firmly stuck down. Peeling or bubbling foil isn't suitable for painting.

Is painting kitchen cabinets cheaper than replacing them?

Yes, usually by a long way, because you keep your existing units, worktops and appliances. We'll give you a fixed written quote after a free visit.
